トランプがアメリカ大統領に2025年1月に返り咲きました。就任から凄まじいスピードで世界中に大きな影響を与えている。本書はトランプ政権の背後にある勢力や政権が目指すものを詳細に解説したものである。
トランプ大統領とイーロン・マスク氏との蜜月関係や、その後の対立が世間を賑わしているが、その背後にある人間関係が本書には描かれている。マスク氏の兄貴分ともいえるピーター・ティールという大富豪がいる。マスクとは共にオンライン決済サービス会社ペイパルを起業した人物だ。ティール氏は第一期のトランプ政権の際には積極的に支援を行っていたが、第二次政権には表立っての支援を見せてはいない。しかしティール氏はバンス副大統領の強力な支援者であり、現トランプ政権にも大きな影響を及ぼしている。ティール氏やマスク氏が目指すのはレイセオンやボーイングが構成している軍産複合体を、新しい軍産複合体へ再編成にあると本書は説く。
ティール氏のパランティア社がビックデータの管理を行い、マスク氏のスペースX社がNASAの仕事を請負う。そしてもう一人の天才的な起業家に本書は言及している。それがアンドゥリル社のパルマ・ラッキー氏だ。アンドゥリル社は多数のドローンを遠隔操作する技術や戦闘用ゴーグルといった技術を開発している。戦争という局面において、もはやトップガンのような世界が終わり、ドローンやAIが戦闘を行う世界がやってくる。今までの軍産複合体ではその変化に対応が出来ないので、それが生まれ変わることが必然性になりつつある。その状況に対応した新興大富豪たちが率いる新軍産複合体を本書では具体的に描き出している。
トランプ政権は今までの常識とは大きく異なる政権運営を行っているが、世界での紛争は小康状態に向かうと本書は予想する。アメリカ国内問題を重視するトランプ政権の立場は、戦争を新たに始めたりすることはなく、継続している戦争は停戦することを目指すというものだ。現在のところまでのアメリカ、イスラエル、イランとの間の紛争はトランプ大統領が瀬戸際で収拾している。本書ではトランプ大統領を先入観無しに公平に論じているために、結果として一般的な議論よりは好意的な評価になっている。公平な視点でトランプ大統領を評価すれば、世界の紛争を小康状態に向かわせるという点では以前の民主党政権よりは間違いなく良い。トランプ大統領のパーソナリティが嫌いな人は当然多いであろうが、リアリスティックな判断が大切である。国内問題を重視するトランプ政権は現在の世界の構造を変えていく。アメリカが世界の覇権を手放していくのだと本書は予想する。そして中国やロシアはそれぞれ勢力を拡大していくのである。
ただ、私の本音を言えば、今般のイスラエルとイランの相互攻撃から、アメリカのイラン空爆、そしてイランのカタール米軍基地への攻撃への一連の流れは非常に危ういものだと思っていた。トランプ大統領の戦争を避けようとする政策志向は信じていたが、他からの戦争を拡大していこうとする勢力の影響を排除できるかどうかは非常に未知数であったからだ。結果としては各国が水面下で意思疎通がよくできていたのだ。ウクライナ戦争の開戦時と比べてみればトランプ政権が非常によくやっていることは明白である。しかし、今後もトランプ政権の意志決定には注意が必要である。
シオニストやキリスト教福音派にはカルトともいえる異常な思想を持つ一団がいる。両者とも米国内で非常に大きな政治的な力を持ち、トランプ政権の強力な支持基盤でもある。彼らは聖書に描かれている預言をそのまま政治的に実行に移すことで神の救済がやってくると信じている。これは現実の政治を現在の国家間の状況を無視して、ある方向に無理矢理引っ張っていく危険な思想である。こういった勢力にトランプ政権が引っ張られないかどうか注意して見守る必要がある。

According to this book, Thiel and Musk aim to reshape the traditional military-industrial complex—long dominated by companies like Raytheon and Boeing—into a new kind of military-industrial alliance.
Peter Thiel’s company, Palantir, handles big data management, while Elon Musk’s SpaceX takes on contracts from NASA. The book also highlights another brilliant entrepreneur: Palmer Luckey of Anduril Industries. Anduril is developing technologies such as remote-controlled drone systems and combat goggles. In the context of modern warfare, the era of “Top Gun"-style dogfights is coming to an end, giving way to a new battlefield dominated by drones and AI. The traditional military-industrial complex is unable to keep up with this shift, making its transformation increasingly inevitable. This book offers a detailed look at the emerging military-industrial complex, now led by a new generation of tech billionaires who are shaping the future of defense.
The Trump administration is governing in a way that breaks significantly from conventional norms, yet this book predicts that global conflicts are likely to move toward a period of relative calm. With a strong focus on domestic issues, the Trump administration is not inclined to start new wars and instead aims to bring ongoing conflicts to a ceasefire. So far, President Trump has managed to defuse tensions between the U.S., Israel, and Iran at critical moments.
Because this book discusses President Trump from a neutral and objective standpoint, its assessment ends up being more favorable than typical commentary. It argues that, when viewed without bias, Trump’s approach is more effective than previous Democratic administrations in terms of de-escalating global conflicts. While many people understandably dislike Trump’s personality, the book emphasizes the importance of making realistic judgments.
By prioritizing domestic concerns, the Trump administration is reshaping the global order. According to the book, the U.S. is gradually stepping back from its role as the world’s dominant power, while China and Russia are each expanding their spheres of influence.
That said, to be honest, I found the recent chain of events—from the mutual attacks between Israel and Iran, to the U.S. airstrikes on Iran, and Iran’s subsequent attack on the U.S. military base in Qatar—extremely precarious. While I trusted President Trump’s intention to avoid war, it was highly uncertain whether he could fully counter the influence of forces seeking to escalate the conflict from other sides.
In the end, it appears that behind the scenes, the countries involved were communicating effectively. Compared to the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, it’s clear that the Trump administration has handled the situation far more competently. However, close attention must continue to be paid to the Trump administration’s decision-making going forward.
Among Zionists and Christian evangelicals, there are factions that hold what can only be described as extreme, almost cult-like beliefs. Both groups wield significant political influence within the United States and form a key part of the Trump administration’s support base. They believe that by enacting biblical prophecies through political means, divine salvation will be brought about.
This mindset is dangerous because it attempts to force real-world politics in a particular direction, ignoring the actual dynamics between nations. It is essential to closely monitor whether the Trump administration can resist being swayed by such forces.
